Repost: PopTag!: The Most Mini-Game

Nexon America’s PopTag! is probably the most similar title for most of the United States social gaming titles. Another diverging title from the company’s other MMORPG offerings, PopTag! still garners a lot of attention from players online. With its familiar gameplay to the Bomberman style gameplay, it illustrates Nexon America’s dedication to exploring the other facets of how the free-to-play genre can be presented.

PopTag! Associate Producer Jacob Zabie was nice enough to answer my questions on the title.

Repost: Combat Arms: Free-to-Play FPS

Multiplayer is one of the most important gameplay design aspects of any first person shooter. But how does that coincide with a free-to-play title?

Nexon America published Combat Arms in the United States, a title which has quickly developed its own strong community to become one of the most popular FPS titles online.

The title was an entirely different direction from Nexon America’s previous titles, but time has shown that the company knew how to use its previous experience to make another great free-to-play title.

Associate Producer Davy Garaix answered my questions on Combat Arms.

Repost: Mabinogi: More Social with the Same Amount of Game

Mabinogi was Nexon America’s second release in the United States, bringing a different style of MMORPG. Leaving the avatar-focused graphics of MapleStory, Mabinogi was a more recognizable 3D title that still featured a different visual style than other MMORPGs. It also was an evolution of the company’s development direction in terms of free-to-play titles.

Matthew McCullough, Assistant Producer of Mabinogi, answered my questions about the title.

Repost: MapleStory: The First United States Release

MapleStory was Nexon America’s first United States release. Since it’s inception, the title has gone though many updates, but continued to draw new players and keep veterans of the title interested in its addictive gameplay.

Of all the titles, obviously contains the most history, but it is also the pioneer for free-to-play in the United States. Bringing a decidedly different approach to a MMORPG, MapleStory could have been a huge failure, but has proven to be a continued popular title in Nexon America’s lineup.

MapleStory Producer Crystin Cox answered some of my question on the title.

Repost: Nexon America: What it’s All About

Nexon America might not be as well known to many people in terms of titles, but in the world of free-to-play titles, the publisher is the biggest in the United States.

Featuring a library of titles that cater to different players, both casual and mainstream, the company has continued to evolve with the times and always be on the forefront of this new genre that has been around for much longer worldwide than the past few years it has become popular in the United States.

As most are more familiar with free-to-play titles on social networks, Nexon America offers full-fledged experiences rather than titles that are essentially mini-games. With the more recognizable MMORPG to an action packed FPS, Nexon America’ library has something for everyone and this week GotGame will be looking into each one.

To start, I had a question and answer with Min Kim, Vice President of Marketing for Nexon America, but every day this week, each of Nexon America’s titles will be highlighted.

Stronghold 3 – Enter the Knights

I remember playing the first Stronghold back during college and really enjoying the experience of medieval RTS gameplay. But then I found destruction and violence to be much more comforting.

But Firefly Studios is bringing the third iteration of the series and has released some new screenshots for the title.

Enjoy inside. And watch for the cow.
